SIAI was founded in 1991 to focus on insurance coverage for gun clubs, gun owners and other businesses in the firearms industry. Our founder, Hollis Boss, started SIAI as a successor to the Hollis Boss Agency where he provided a full range of insurance services, including coverage for gun clubs. Hollis is a past President of the NSSA, a member of the NSSA Hall of Fame, and a former Chairman of the U. S. Shooting Team Foundation.

In addition to Hollis, Sportsman’s is staffed by experienced, knowledgeable insurance professionals who are committed to providing the best possible customer service to our customers.

Bill Stephens joined SIAI full time in 2007 after handling marketing and promotional services since 1991. Bill has an extensive background in business management and consulting, and has provided insurance and consulting services to the firearms industry since 1978.

Leslie Casanova oversees all aspects of our agency and has been with Sportsman’s since 1995. As our lead agent, she is licensed in all 50 states with a special focus on general liability insurance, commercial property and workers compensation, including claims.

Chuck Sandnes joined SIAI in 2011 after a 20+ year career in health care management. Chuck manages our gun club, instructor, and guide & outfitter general liability programs. He also is responsible for gun insurance claims.

Keren Sandnes started at Sportsman’s in 2000. She is the primary contact for gun insurance coverage and firearm values. Keren processes the gun insurance applications and change requests.

Sarai Barclay was a part-time office assistant before becoming full time in 2011. Her responsibilities include processing all premium payments, gun insurance renewals and issuing the gun and liability Certificates of Coverage.

Stephanie Field has been with Sportsman’s since 2015. She assists with accounting duties and has primary responsibility for the package policies we offer to our liability customers.

Jeannie Bacon joined SIAI in 2018. She processes our daily correspondence and maintains our filing system. She also organizes the large volume of paperwork that insurance agencies are required to maintain.

In addition to the full-time office staff, SIAI has long time relationships with our IT manager and our webmaster / graphics consultant. Plus, we work closely with and receive strong support from the staff at our primary carrier, T.H.E. Insurance Company of Treasure Island FL.

Sportsman’s business model focuses on providing outstanding service to the members of the organizations that we serve: Amateur Trapshooting Association, National Skeet Shooting Association, National Sporting Clays Association, Safari Club International, Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation, and the Quail and Upland Wildlife Foundation. We also provide a limited number of insurance products to firearms manufacturers, wholesalers, and service organizations.

Service to the shooting sports is our only product and we are proud of the high level of service that we deliver to our customers.
